A heavy-duty galvanised steel ratchet strainer for tensioning fencing line wire.

The ratchet tensioner can be fixed to wooden or concrete posts at the beginning of a fencing run and during more extended fencing runs where required.

They are usually used for tensioning high-tensile galvanised line wire, stock fencing, agricultural fencing, rabbit netting and chicken wire.

The line wire is fed through the spindle using an adjustable spanner; the ratchet can be turned, straining the wire as it gets tighter.
